Amazon Music for Artists: how to claim your profile, read your stats and pitch a release

•5 min read•Rules sourced

Amazon Music has its own artist dashboard, separate from Spotify and Apple. It is free, works on web and mobile, and is the only place that tells you how often people ask Alexa for your music.

Claiming your profile

  • Wait for the first release. A profile cannot be claimed until your first release is publicly available.
  • Sign in with an Amazon account. Search for your artist name, choose "Claim This Artist" and complete the application.
  • Help the verification. Connect your social accounts, or submit an official website or a social profile showing your name or email.
  • Roles. The first approved person becomes Owner; Owners and Admins can add team members, and Viewers see data only.

What you can see and change

Pitching a release

  • One track per new release. Owners and Admins can submit one pitch per release.
  • No edits after sending. A pitch cannot be changed once submitted, and the status is not shown.
  • Mind the window. A release is not eligible if it is more than 14 days past its release date, was already pitched, or was released on Amazon Music before.
  • Timing. Delivered releases are usually live within 24 hours; catalogue fixes such as merged artist profiles can take up to 4 weeks.
