What 27 music distributors publish about payouts: October 2026

•6 min read•Open data

Every music distributor publishes some of its terms and leaves others inside the account. We recorded what 27 of them publish on their own pricing and help pages, with the source link and date on every value, and released it as an open dataset under CC BY 4.0. This report counts what the dataset shows. It does not rank or rate any service.

How distributors charge

Pricing model (at least one plan)DistributorsShare of 27
Paid subscription1763%
Payment per release1141%
A plan with no upfront price830%
Invitation or application route726%

Most companies offer more than one model, so the rows add up to more than 27.

"Keep 100%" usually comes with conditions

  • It is mostly tied to payment. Most of the 100% claims we recorded sit on subscription or per-release plans; on most plans with no upfront price, the published artist share is lower.
  • It often excludes video and social. At least 6 of the services that advertise keeping 100% publish a separate commission on YouTube Content ID or social-platform earnings on some or all plans.
  • No-upfront-price plans. 6 of the 8 publish the artist's share on those plans; it ranges from 85% to 100% of streaming revenue. The other 2 do not publish a figure.

Payout minimums

19 of the 27 publish a minimum withdrawal or method-specific minimums on their public pages. Published minimums run from $1 for some payment methods to $100 on one free plan. The other 8 do not publish a fixed amount: some show it only inside the account, others not at all.

When the money moves

How payouts are triggeredDistributors

Paid against an invoice1

19 of the 27 list PayPal among their payout methods, directly or through a payment provider.

Currency

5 of the 27 publish their plan prices only in a currency other than US dollars (euros, pounds or Indonesian rupiah). The dataset keeps each price in the currency it was published in, without converting.

Where Mazufa sits

Mazufa appears as one row under the same rules: no upload fee, no subscription and no per-release fee, with the revenue share and payout terms set out in each artist's written agreement rather than published on the site. Mazufa is excluded from all the counts above.

Method

  • Values were taken only from each company's own pricing pages and help centre between 25 and 28 October 2026, and each row carries its source link and access date.
  • Where a company does not publish a field, the dataset says not published instead of guessing.
  • Two services were left out: one closed its artist distribution in September 2026, and one publishes its plan table in a form we could not read reliably.
  • Terms change often. Check the source link in the dataset before relying on any value, and send corrections to contact@mazufa.com.
